Art Installations

Each piece in this collection is a complete work in two parts: a handpainted canvas and a real, wearable calabash earring or necklace embedded within it.
The canvas hangs on your wall as interior art. The jewelry within it is yours to wear. Remove the piece and put it on your body and the canvas remains. Both objects continue to exist. Both are transformed.
This is the calabash’s own logic. In Curaçaoan heritage, it was never only one thing; vessel, instrument, medicine, food. These installations hold that same refusal to be fixed in a single form. The art lives on your wall and on your body. Each piece is a one of a kind original work, handmade in Curaçao.
