Bandera begins where most artists stop, with what is left behind. Layers of dried paint remnants in the colors of Curaçao’s flag are pressed, sculpted, and built up by hand onto a white painted calabash base, creating a bold, textured composition that moves like ocean waves and carries the weight of an entire island’s identity.

The white base is deliberate. It mirrors the flag’s white band clean, grounded, open. Against it, the blue and yellow erupt in dimensional layers, raw and unapologetic. The result is something between wearable art and cultural statement, a piece that does not whisper where it comes from.
